Uiteindelijk is de nieuwe samenwerking een geweldige manier voor reizigers om hun balans op te krikkenAviosdoor punten te verdienen met dagelijkse aankopen. Hiermee kun je 400 Nectar-punten omzetten in 250 Avios - of vice versa (250 Avios kunnen worden omgezet in 400 Nectar-punten). In wezen "koopt" u met deze nieuwe overdrachtsoptie Avios voor een prijs van 0,8 pence per stuk, wat niet noodzakelijkerwijs een slechte deal is. In feite is dat beter dan je vaak zult vindenBA's kopen Avios-promoties. Als je op dit moment niet zoveel reist, kan het een solide manier zijn om waarde te halen uit elke Avios die je hebt verdiend.

Hoe over te stappen
Het koppelen van uw accounts kan niet eenvoudiger. Log hiervoor in op uw Nectar-account en ga vervolgens naar deDe bestemmingspagina van British Airwaysen klik op de optie 'Accounts koppelen'. U wordt dan doorgestuurd om in te loggen op uw Executive Club-account bij British Airways.
Van daaruit moet u vervolgens selecteren in welke richting u uw punten wilt overdragen - van Nectar naar Avios of van Avios naar Nectar. Selecteer vervolgens hoeveel punten u wilt overdragen. Bevestig ten slotte uw overdracht en de punten verschijnen in uw respectieve account.
Als je nog nooit Avios hebt overgezet naar Nectar, heb je de kans om tot 50.000 Avios te winnen als je je aanmeldt voor de automatische conversie en elke maand tussen nu en mei 2022 400 Nectar-punten omzet in 250 Avios. Helaas zijn de prijzen momenteel niet aangeboden voor conversies van Avios naar Nectar.
Wanneer zou je Avios naar Nectar willen overzetten?
Ter verduidelijking: dit is niet voor iedereen logisch. Sterker nog, voor de overgrote meerderheid vanpunten- en mijlenverzamelaars, wilt u uw Nectar-punten omzetten in Avios om de meeste waarde te verkrijgen. We weten echter dat het voor sommigen weinig zin heeft om Avios te blijven verdienen.
Voor sommigenExecutive Club-leden, ze hebben enormAvios balanceerten geen directe manier om ze te gebruiken – vooral in de aanhoudende pandemie. Voor iemand in dat scenario die een hele reeks Avios in zijn account heeft en niet van plan is ze te gebruiken, kan deze nieuwe samenwerking nog waardevoller zijn. Laten we eens kijken wat u van die Avios kunt krijgen als u ze overzet naar Nectar.
Merk eerst op dat het partnerschap maximale overdrachten heeft. Zoals beschreven in de algemene voorwaarden, kunnen leden maximaal 80.000 Nectar-punten of 50.000 Avios per kalendermaand handmatig omzetten.
De limiet is gescheiden voor zowel debitering als creditering - zoals in 80.000 Nectar-punten gedebiteerd en 80.000 Nectar-punten gecrediteerd - per kalendermaand. Bovendien kunnen leden automatisch maximaal 40.000 Nectar-punten of 25.000 Avios in een kalenderkwartaal omzetten.
Stel dat u 1.200.150 Avios op uw Executive Club-account heeft staan. Gebaseerd opDe meest recente taxaties van TPG U.K, die Avios zijn maar liefst £ 13.202 waard. Maar stel dat u een aantal van hen wilt ombouwen voor een Sainsbury's-winkel. Gezien het maximale aantal Avios dat u in één maand kunt omzetten in Nectar-punten, kunt u slechts 50.000 van die Avios overdragen in de kalendermaand, wat 80.000 Nectar-punten wordt.
Het voordeel van die Nectar-punten is dat ze bij verschillende retailers te besteden zijn. Neem bijvoorbeeld de volgende partner- en conversiepercentages:
- Sainsbury's - 500 Nectar-punten zijn £ 2,50 waard;

Stel dat u de maximale Avios naar Nectar-punten voor de maand wilt overboeken om te gebruiken bij Sainsbury's. De 80.000 Nectar-punten zijn £ 400 waard bij Sainsbury's. Voor alle duidelijkheid: het overzetten van uw Avios naar Nectar heeft slechts zin in een zeer beperkt aantal scenario's. Voor de meesten is het verzamelen van Avios om te gebruiken voor gratis vluchten de manier om het meeste uit uw dagelijkse uitgaven te halen - inclusief die gedaan bij Sainsbury's, Argos, eBay, Esso en meer.

Wanneer zou het anders zinvol zijn om Avios over te zetten naar Nectar?
Een ander voorbeeld van iemand die het nuttig zou kunnen vinden om Avios over te zetten naar Nectar, is als u niet vaak reist en slechts een klein aantal Avios in uw Executive Club-account heeft. Uw Avios zijn misschien niet genoeg om in te wisselen voor een vlucht, maar ze kunnen u een mooie - zij het mogelijk kleine - besparing opleveren bij Sainsbury's.
Stel dat u 3.000 Avios op uw Executive Club-account heeft. Je bent niet van plan om binnenkort meer te verdienen en je laat ze daar liever niet bij zitten. Je zou ze allemaal kunnen overzetten naar 4.800 Nectar-punten. In totaal zou dat u £ 22,50 aan Sainsbury's besparingen opleveren.
Ten slotte is het belangrijk om in gedachten te houden dat de waarde van Nectar-punten kan stijgen met speciale promoties. Een van de meest bekende kenmerken van het programma is dat het vaak promoties uitvoert die de verdien- of verzilveringsmogelijkheden vergroten.
In het verleden heeft het programma bijvoorbeeld promoties uitgevoerd met Vue Cinema waarmee u dubbele waarde kunt krijgen op uw Nectar-punten wanneer u ze inwisselt voor Vue-vouchers. We houden deze promoties in de gaten en laten het je weten als er een komt die zinvol kan zijn voor een Avios-overdracht naar Nectar.
Wanneer kan het zinvol zijn om Nectar over te zetten naar Avios?
Het mooie van de samenwerking is dat punten in beide richtingen kunnen worden overgedragen, dus 250 Avios kunnen 400 Nectar-punten worden en 400 Nectar-punten kunnen 250 Avios worden. We hebben hierboven uitgelegd wanneer je Avios naar Nectar wilt overzetten. Als je je reis wilt maximaliseren en veel Nectar-punten hebt verzameld, wil je ze misschien overzetten naar Avios als je je Avios-account wilt opwaarderen voor een geplande inwisseling. Dit is ook een voorbeeld van waar het kopen van punten zinvol kan zijn.
Hoewel er buiten Sainsbury's tal van manieren zijn om Nectar te gebruiken, bijvoorbeeld als je bent verhuisd en niet meer in de buurt van een Sainsbury's woont, verander je misschien van loyaliteit aan de supermarkt. In deze situatie kunnen uw Nectar-punten anders niet direct worden gebruikt, dus misschien wilt u ze overzetten naar Avios om er zeker van te zijn dat u ze daadwerkelijk kunt gebruiken.
