Us Department Of Education Funds Distribution Guidance
Section 2003 of the ARP requires Recipient, an institution of higher education as defined in section 101 or 102 of the Higher Education Act of 1965, as amended , 20 USC § 1001 or 1002, to provide emergency financial aid grants to students in an amount equivalent to the sum of two amounts: 50 percent of the portion of its allocation that is based on formula factors from CRRSAA section 314- and 100 percent of the portion of its allocation that is based on formula factors from CRRSAA section 314-. The amount of funds made available by this award under Assistance Listing Number 84.425E represents the minimum amount that Recipient must use for making emergency financial aid grants to students. 2. Under section 2003 of the ARP and section 314 of the CRRSAA, Recipient must make emergency financial aid grants to students , which may be used for any component of the students cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care , or child care.
The Institution should consider each students particular socioeconomic circumstances in the administration of these grants.
Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Iii American Rescue Plan Act
Greenville Technical College received additional stimulus funds from the federal government as a result of the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III American Relief Plan Act to assist students in need during the pandemic. The HEERF III-ARP Act provides emergency stimulus funds to students for expenses related to the COVID-19 .

Will I Be Taxed On Receiving The Heerf Iii Emergency Grant
Emergency aid granted to students due to COVID is not taxable. The IRS issued guidance on how report pandemic-related emergency financial aid grants.
According to the IRS website, “Emergency financial aid grants under the CARES Act for unexpected expenses, unmet financial need, or expenses related to the disruption of campus operations on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as unexpected expenses for food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, or childcare, are qualified disaster relief payments under section 139 of the Internal Revenue Code. This grant is not includible in your gross income.”
Will The Money Automatically Apply To My Student Account Balance
- No, per the U.S. Department of Education guidelines, Missouri State University cannot automatically apply the funds to an outstanding balance. However, at the time of award students will be given the opportunity to elect to have their grant funds applied toward any outstanding balance currently owed. Neither funding amounts nor availability of funds will be based on this choice and all grant recipients will have the option to receive a full refund, regardless of what may be owed to the institution.

Quarterly Reporting Update: 6/30/21
During the quarter ending 6/30/21, Emergency Financial Aid Grants of $732,483 were distributed to 1,495 students under Section 314 of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 .

Heerf Iii Spring Emergency Grant
Students who are facing cost of attendance hardships may apply for the UNG CARES III Emergency Grant to receive up to $1,800 in assistance. The Emergency Grant applications will be reviewed and placed on student accounts weekly starting February 1 as funds last.
The application reviewers will be evaluating the need of the student to attend college. Funds will be available until the fund is exhausted. Emergency funding is open to all UNG students. Funding may be limited due to high demand, so apply early.
To be eligible, students must:
- fully complete the HEERF III Emergency Grant application
- be enrolled for spring semester as of February 1, 2022

Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds Iii
The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund is authorized by the American Rescue Plan , which was signed into law in March 2021. These funds allow Stony Brook University to provide emergency grants to students for expenses related to any component of the student’s cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care, or childcare.
Eligible students will receive the maximum amount of funds they are entitled to based upon Federal and SUNY guidelines, prioritizing need, until funding is no longer available. There is no appeal process for ARP funds. Students looking for additional funds based upon exceptional need will be required to submit a Request for Re-evaluation. In order to request a re-evaluation, students must have a valid FAFSA on file.
Disbursement Of Heerf Iii Grants

On November 10, 2021, HEERF III Grant awards were distributed electronically via BankMobile Disbursements, a third-party partner that disburses refunds and virtually all students can access. The award email sent on November 9, 2021 informed students that they could view and/or change their refund preference and they could also select a refund preference if not previously done.
HEERF III Grant awards will be disbursed via paper check to those students who did not select a BankMobile refund preference or who do not have access to BankMobile.

Cares Act Higher Education Emergency Grant For Students
On March 11, 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 was signed into law. This new law expanded the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund and provided Suffolk University with additional funds designated for student grants. The HEERF III grants may be used for any component of the cost of attendance or for emergency costs associated with COVID-19.
The University has developed a process to begin the distribution of the $6,552,341 available for HEERF III grants to students. There are two components to the process.
1. Students who meet the established criteria will automatically be awarded a HEERF III grant of $1000-$2000. To be eligible for the automatic HEERF III grant, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Enrolled as an undergraduate in the Fall 2021 semester as of August 30, 2021 or in the Spring 2022 semester as of January 10, 2022.
- Completed the Suffolk University financial aid application process, including the Free Application for Federal Student Aid , to allow for an accurate assessment of the students Expected Family Contribution as of August 30, 2021 for Fall 2021 or by January 10, 2022 for Spring 2022.
- Students EFC does not exceed 20,000.
Approximately 1921 students who meet the eligibility criteria will receive HEERF III grants in the following amounts for the Fall 2021 semester:
- EFC 0-5846$2000
- EFC 5847-20,000$1000
- EFC 0-5846 $2000
- EFC 5847-20,000 $1000
How Will The Herrf Iii Funds Be Prioritized
Prioritization of funds will be allocated to currently enrolled students based on the following:
1. All Pell-eligible students and students with an Expected Family Contribution of $12,000 or less,
2. All students who have completed FAFSA/Rise Act
3. All fall 2021 students enrolled as of September 21, 2021, excluding dual credit and Corporate, Community and Continuing Education students, employees, and their dependents.
Act, 2021 requires institutions to prioritize currently enrolled students as of January 18, 2022, with exceptional need, such as students who receive Pell grants. You may only submit an application once. Incomplete forms will not be processed. Please complete this application as soon as possible as funds will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III was authorized by the American Rescue Plan and signed into law on March 11, 2021. An allocation has been provided to our institution for awarding financial aid grants to students. These funds may be used for any component of a students cost of attendance or for emergency costs that arise due to coronavirus, such as tuition, food, housing, health care or childcare. Grant amounts at the University of Mississippi will typically not exceed $3,000 per person. Eligibility is not guaranteed.
Emergency Grants For Students
The federal government has provided Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund resources for higher education institutions to help address the immediate and urgent impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on our students and colleges.
The intent of these funds is to support our neediest students whose lives and education have been impacted by the pandemic.
For the Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023 terms, these grants will range between $150 and $900, based on a student’s financial need and the number of units they were enrolled in this semester. Students may be eligible for a second, matching grant based on continued enrollment. In total, an eligible student could receive up to $3,600 if they enroll in and stay enrolled in 15 units plus certain transferable math and English courses for the full year. We know that many students’ financial needs will extend beyond the current semester, and additional resources will be distributed to enrolled and qualifying students in future terms as long as the money is available.
In addition, we offer the Student Emergency Fund program for acute student needs. If you are a student still facing an emergency and you meet the CARES eligibility, then fill out the short Student Emergency Fund application.

There Are Two Ways To Get Funding Automatic And Emergency
NOTE: Emergency funding is out of funds and the last Automatic Allocation will go out to students who qualify the week of February 28. We will be out of Allocation funds on February 28.
To receive a disbursement of federal aid through the HEERF III program, a UNG student must:
- be enrolled for spring semester as of February 1, 2022
- have completed a FAFSA for 2021-2022 by November 19, 2021 and
- be eligible for Title IV financial aid, with an estimated family contribution of $5,846 or less.
Students will receive two automatic disbursements – one in the week of February 1 and if funding is available one the week of March 1.
The amount of each disbursement will range from $300 to $700 per student and will vary based number of credit hours enrolled. The total allocations for Spring semester will range from $600 and $1,400 if funding is available.
Failure to set-up a refund preference prior to January 24, 2022, may cause a minimum 14-day delay in receiving these funds.

The timing of your refund will be determined by having a refund preference set-up. Check your refund preference status now to ensure the fastest possible deposit of funds.

Montgomery County Community College has received $8,632,616 as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to directly support students who have demonstrated need and are facing financial challenges because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. A: Yes. HEERF III funds are available to students who are on financial aid suspension, warning, or approved for a submitted appeal.
3. I am not enrolled in classes and now it is too late to enroll. Will I still receive the HEERF III grant?
A: Please consult with your academic advisor about your enrollment if you were enrolled before the end of the 16-week add/drop period you may be eligible for a HEERF III award. TCC also has classes that start later in the semester that may qualify for HEERF grants.
4. I submitted the HEERF III Grant Authorization form and I think I completed it wrong. How can I fix that?

Cares Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund Statement
At Southern New Hampshire University, we know many of our students are facing significant challenges due to the ongoing pandemic. To assist students who have been impacted financially, SNHU is distributing Higher Education Emergency Relief Funds via the CARES Act, the Corona Virus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act and the American Recovery Plan. Q: Which students are eligible to receive HEERF III emergency funds?
A: Similar to the HEERF II funds, the HEERF III funds include no student eligibility requirements either. However, institutions are required to prioritize grants to students with exceptional financial need, such as those who receive Pell Grants. The HEERF III funds can be awarded to online students as well. Eligible student groups include citizens, permanent residents, international students, refugees, asylum seekers, DACA recipients, other DREAMers, and similar undocumented students.
Q: I’m a proprietary school. What can I use my funds for?
A: While $396 million is allocated for use by for-profit, or proprietary institutions, any funds received by proprietary institutions would only be allowed to be used for emergency grants for students. See the chart above for allowable uses for students.
Q: Do I need to draw down my HEERF III funds by a certain deadline?
